Tho experiments being carried out in the Whnngamomona. County by Mr. Bruce Levy, of the Agricultural Department. and his assistant, Mr. A. IC. .Madden, cover a largo area of country, extending as they do over about 300 acres, says the’ Stratford Post. The plots in which various grasses, etc., are being tried out number something like 130, and as these extend from Te Wera to Tahora it can be seen that the information which will be obtained will be most varied, and therefore of exceptional value. Experiments with basic slag and super are being carried) out also, 3cwt. of slag to the acre, and 2owt. of super being used. The grassse are doing exceptionally well, particularly -those* of a lower fertility demanding type. Entries for the 1925. calf-rearing and root crops competitions held under the auspices" of the Boys’ and Girls’ Agricultural Clubs close with the secretary on Saturday, September 19.
