MORE PROTECTION NEEDED. (By Telegraph.—Special to Star.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 25. New Zealand woollen manufacturing interests, which have suffered exceptionally from competition during tne past .'ear, particularly .through tn e extended use of artificial silk in imported fabrics, are understood to'be taking action with a view to inducing Parliament to grant additional protection. Representatives juf" the ' mil tow net's and mill employees and drapers have reen in consultation with the authorities in Wellington this week, but nothing conclusive lias yet developed. It is probable that representations to the Government will be made in the course of a lew weeks.
