COMBINED HOCKEY BALL.
KAPONGA CLUBS’ U UNCTION. TO-MOIUiO\V (THUiISDAY). The announcement that no referees will check the pace, but a few courteous M’s.C. wilt keep it speedy to tlie strains of Boulton’s Orchestra, should lend tempting attraction to the ball to be held under the auspices of the Ivaponga Hockey Clubs to-morrow (Thursday) evening. The venue of the function is the ivaponga Town Hall. The opening grand march is timed for 8 p.m., and it is expected that the 110-side bell will sound some time between 3 a.m. anti the breakfast hour. Both the ladies’ and the men’s Kaponga hockey clubs have earned distinction by their prowess- in the game this season, and in to-morrow’s function they hope to eclipse in the social sphere the excellent reputation thev have gained in the field of play. A big gathering is being prepared for by the committee, members of which are making such arrangements that should* justify the anticipation that the event will be replete with, enjoyment.
