BETWEEN NEW ZEALAND AND SWITZERLAND.

A two way radio commumcaitiion with a Swiss station was established am) maintained for an hour yesterday by an amateur, Mr. 11. J. Patty, operating station 2 a E. This is the first occasion on which two way contact has been established between New Zealand and Switzerland, and the sun was shining at both ends, Tho Swiss station is H. 9 A. Conditions here were not good, atmospherics interfering with reception, but at the other end tho signals were good, no repeats being asked for. Mr. Patty used a two tube receiver and the input to the transmitter was only 45 watts, the same power as was used in radio conversations With French, English, Swedish, Chilian, Algerian, Mexican ancl numerous other stations.
