SOOOEIRI CLUB. A general meeting of the Ai anai a Soccer Club was held on: Saturday, at which' there was a good attendance or members. The financial statement was presented and adopted. Two- gold medals, presented by Messrs. T. Hammonds land iGrawfou-d Wjtybscm, wore unianimon.sly awarded to 1). Betterklge (lullback) and W. Budd (goal-keeper) of the Ala nai a team. Both these players throughout the season igaye exhibitions of -a high standard in both club and representative 'matches, and thoroughly deserved the above awards. It was decided to hold a smoke concert in Alanai-a Town Hall on Friday, August 2S, when tlio two cups von by this club will he presented. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the secretary (It. G. Muggeridge) for his untiring efforts on the dub's behalf throughout the season. Votes of thanks were carried to Messrs. J. Cosgrove (Hawera Star) and Crawford Watson (\\ aim at e A\ it—ness) for publicity .ait all times given to the iabtivities of this club, and which had in .a large measure contributed to the «su'cice.sis of the game in tlio town.
