About three months ago Stuart Street, aged 12 years, a son of OonHtable 'Street, of Daeeyville, was severely burnt aiboub the .anus and cheat by an explosion. Recently the stage arrived when it was neeeisisary to graft .skin into the burnt parts of his body, but the area to be grafted wais. so great that difficulty was experienced in finding a suitable person who would volunteer to give his skin for the purpose. The danger and pain of such an operation were pointed out to him. hut he heroically expressed his deteiinination to help s.a.ve h.i.s hi ocher’s life. The oijie ration was performed, aind for over two hours lie was on the operating table, Dr. Storey taking the skin off his left side almost from the shoulder to the ankle. The skin wa;« then •successfully grafted on to his brother. The younger lad, after coining out of the operatioiii, declared: “I am not good enough for Norman to do thin fm* me.'’ and when his brother was told of thisi lie replied in the oingle words: “Re’s ray pal.” Subsequently both, the boys were reported to 'he making excellent progress toward recovery. Constable Street was formerly an inter-Stb.ite footballer.
