BIG ADVANCES SHORTLY. BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPVRTOKT LONDON, Aug. 20. International broadcasting programmes will come in a. few weeks owing to the distinct advance in the British and’ American broadcasting stations. A super-receiving station has been erected in Kent. Experiments show that the distortion of statis has been practically eliminated. Holders of crystal sets will thus be able to hear items in America, Austria and Germany incidental to the British programme. Ail official British broadcasting statement says: “The time is nearly here when a man broadcasting from Loudon will be heard practically everywhere in the world. The new station in Kent operates on Hewer valves as yet. This, together with new discoveries', insures purer transmissions.”
