WELLINGTON FLEET MEETING. (BY TELEGRAPH PC ESS ASSOCIATION. TRENTHAM, Aug. 20. The Wellington Fleet Meeting opened to-day in dull, though fine, weather. There was a. large attendance, including many American officers and men. The track was slightly holding. Results were as follow: Melville Hurdles. —Peter Maxwell 1, Gluement 2, Askari 3. Scratched: General l Carrington. Won by two lengths, three and a half lengths between second and third. Time, 2.59. Boston Trial. —Father O’Flynn 1, Nadarino 2, Nine of Spades 3. Scratch, ed ; Town Crier, Killute, Bonny Louisa, Gold Stream, Cooinda, and Assert. Won by six lengths, half a length between second and third. Time, 1.19/
Maine Handicap.—Olympic 1, Black Rock 2, Gardant 3. Scratched: Musical. Won by a neck, four lengths between second and third. Time, 1.38. Richmond Steeples.—Bonny Rill 1, Birkenella 2, Lady Comet 3. AH started. Won by six lengths, eight lengths between second and third. Time, 5.32. Rain set in prior to this race
Ludlow Hurdles. —Nukumai 1, Lucullent 2, Can-tain Sarto 3. Scratched: Highway, Te Kawn, Tinokaha, and Askari. ‘ Won by three-quarters of a length, four lengths between' second and third. Time, 3.29 J.
Seattle Handicap.—Tanadees 1, General Carrington 2, Kilfane 3. All started. Won by three-quarters iff a length, two and a half lengths between second and third. Time, 2.22 3-5.
