NEW PRACTICE WICKETS. APPROVED P,Y COUNCIL. The 1l a went Cricket Club has written to the Borough Council asking that two practice wickets he laid down on 1 lie edge of the playing area, at flic cost of (lie. club, the wickets to he eleven yards long, six feet wide, and three inches deep. At the meeting of the Coiyicil last night Cr Townsend said that the wickets would he laid down equidistant from the pavilion and, the tennis courts. They also asked, that seats be built in the inner room of the pavilion, and that it be kept clear of tools, etc. On the motion of Cr Townsend, seconded by Cr Walk ley, it was agreed that the work be done. ID was stated by Cr Townsend that the wickets would not interfere with any other sport.
