Received Aug. 18, 10.15 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 17. The Ge.man press describes a method of showing films, producing not only the movement of actors, but their spoken words. It is recalled that previous attempts in this connection involved the use of independent soundproducing instruments, such, as a gramaphone, but the difficulties of eliminating mechanical noise and oi obtaining absolute synchronisation of action and voice were found insuperable. . „. . . ~ Tlie new invention, winch is tlie work .of three German engineers, is said to have been rendered possible by 7 the construction of a special apparatus enabling the spoken words and photographic uicture to be registered on tlie same *filnr. thus securing absolute synchronisation.-—Times.
