CAST FOR “THE TOREADOR.”
The Hawera Operatic Society announces the following provisional cast of characters for its performance of “The Toreador,” which is to commence its season on September 28: Dona Teresa,, Mrs Wildish; Mrs Malton Hoppings (a widow), Miss Alison Wilson ; Dora Selby (a ward in chancery), Mrs B. L. Joll; Nancy Staunton (friend of Dora), Miss M. G, Cook; Cora Bellamy (a bridesmaid), Miss A. Whyte; Susan (proprietress of the Magazin des Bleurs, Grand Hotel, Ziarritz), Miss D. Machin; Carajola (a toreador), Mr G.’ Hessell; Moreno (Carajola’s friend), Mr C. Faria; Governor of Villaya, Mr J. Renwick; Augustus Traill (of the British Consulate at Villaya), Mr A. Powdrell; Sir Archibald Slackitt, Bart. (Lieut. Welsh Guards), Mr S. H. Gibson; Pettifer (a dealer in wild animals), Mr J. D. McQuini; Rinaldo (Carlist), Mr A. A. Hampton; Mr Probitt (solicitor), Mr N. E. West; Bandmaster, Mr L. S. Poison; Waiter, Mr F. Lowe or Master Hawkins; Sammy Gigg (a tiger), Mr R. Vivian. La Belle Bolero: To be chosen by producer. Bridesmaids to be chosen from: Mrs Coleman, Mrs F. Lowe, Misses M. and Z. Morrissey, E. McGlashan, E. Rauch, J. Page, A. Johnstone, M. Barnes and D. C. Ewen. Dancers to lie chosen from: Mrs Latham, Misses Lay (2), Pedder, junr., Instone, Goodwin, Bilton, Petersen, Camuhell, Warcup. A. Bailey. M. Washer, Howard, L. Douglas, Ekdahl and E. and K. Goodson. The parts of Ethel Marshall, Isabella and Inez have yet to he allocated. The following are also understudying principals: Mrs Tocker, Misses Ekdahl. E. and K. Goodson, and Mr Bowers.
