CONTROL OF THE WORK. FROM OUR PARLIAMENTARY REPORTER. WELLINGTON, Aug. 13. After April, 1926, no electric wiring may be done in New Zealand except under the direct supervision of a licensed electric wire-men. A Bill making complete provision for the licensing and registration of wiremen was introduced in the House to-day. It proposes to set up a board to control the system, comprising the Chief Electrical Engineer and one representative oacli of the electric power boards, insurance companies, electric traders and licensed wiremen. The board’s functions will be to provide for the examination of applicants for registration, to maintain a register, and, if necessary, to suspend licenses for proved complaints of defective workmanship. Two such endorsements of the license may result in cancellation. Licensed wiremen with three years’ experience may he registered without examination.
