AUSTRALIANS ON TOUR
VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND
PROPOSAL FINDS SUPPORT
BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Aug. 14, 12.30 p.m. SYDNEY, Aug. 14. The agitation for sending the next Australian cricket team to tour England via New Zealand is receiving strong support in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia. Players who have previously visited England state that several matches played in New Zealand would materially assist in acciamiatising the Australian side before it reached England, the conditions and wickets in New Zealand being similar to those in England. To members making their first trip overseas such ian experience would be invaluable. 'Flie matter rosts with the i. Board of Control. As New Zealand r' ha.s offered a guarantee for a. certain number of matches in New Zealand, there can be no financial loss. The Telegraph urges that the opportunity for letting the Australian players accustom themselves to new conditions with a few preliminary matches ini New Zealand should not be missed.
