PERSONAL ITEMS.
After 40 years’ service Mr A. Elliott, Senior Supervisor of the Telegraph Department of the Wanganui Post Office, is severing his connection with the service at the end of this week. Mr Dingwall will he actingsupervisor until the arrival of Mr Jarvie, Mr Elliott’s successor. Consequent- on tTte resignation of the Deputy-Mayor (Or. C. \Y. Poynton) on account of Illness, Or. O. I*. Brown has been elected Deputy-Mayor of Wanganui.
Mr. IV. A. Waiters, engineer to the Manawutu-Oroua Electric Power Board, who was injured in a motoring accident t-li© other day, is continuing to make good progress,- hut a week or two will in all probability elapse before he lias sufficiently recovered to permit of his being discharged from hospital.
