DAIRY FACTORY MEETING.
(From Our l’atea Correspondent.) WHEN UAK U HA*. The annual general meeting of the shareholders of the Whenuakura Cooperative Dairy Company, Limited, was held at the factory, at Whenuakura, on Saturday last, August 8. Mr. \\ . H. Southeom'be, chairman of directors, presided over a very large attendance. On the motion of Mr. C. Honeyiield the balance-sheet was taken as read In moving the adoption ol the oal-ance-sheet the cliairinan congratulated the members on the success oi the vear’s work. 1 Mr F Parsons said he was at one time in fa-vour oi the appointment oi a farm instructor, but he had now changed liis opinion, and considered that any milk not no to the mark should be graded accordingly and whey butter price paid for same. He "* IK not in favour of 90 pet- cent o the suppliers being penalised lor the benefit of 10 per cent. . - Mr. Honeyiield seconded the motion for adoption, which was carried Messrs. Rack and Honeyiield were re-elected to the directorate. . M. r J. D. G. Thomson was re-appoine-ed auditor. . Considerable discussion took jnaec over the cost of carting of cream irom the Kohi, and it was eventually decided to ask the Kohi suppliers to arrange for their own carting to the Wesriiolm branch. ... The question of dealing with output was considered, Mi. 1. Hun . moving that the company continue on the open consignment basis. It was ultimately decided.: ‘that n be a recommendation to the directors to sell the whole or any portion of the season’s outputs of cheese and buttei if the prices offered are m their opinion satisfactory.” , r There beeiug no further business, Mr. T Hurley moved and Capt. Tmnoy seconded "a hearty vote of thanks to the directors and staff for the marinel in which they had carried out the work of the company. The chairman acknowledged the vote, remarking that he "'as sure they would all continue to give of their best ill the interests of the company s affairs. ~ ~ „ At a subsequent meeting or the dir©-, tors, Mr. W. H. Southconih e was reelected chairman.
