Received August 7, 11.15 a.m. SYDNEY, August 7. .The police estimate that 50 American sailors deserted during the fleet’s stay at Sydney. One sailor put in an appearance short’y after the ships sailed, but he was not a deserter. He had drunk welj but not wisely, and will be sent on to rejoin his ship at Auckland. Three others were found in a similar condition in the streets.
