RIOTING REPORTED. 8? CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT LONDON, Aug. 6. Grave rioting occurred at Ammanford. Five hundred strikers .raided the pit with the object of fetching out two workers. The police who defended the colliery were attacked with sticks. and stones. There were many casualties on both sides, including the deputy chief constable and the inspector, who were severely injured. The manager’s house was damaged. A strong contingent of Glamorgan and Carmathen police restored order.
