TE KIRI.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The word that- Mrs. R. Gatenby, oi Tataraimaka, had passed away cast a g'loom over the district. Of a genial and bright disposition, she was loved by all who knew her, and, having passed her girlhood in this district wiii be sincerely mourned. Later she married. and settled here, Mr. Gatenby at one time having the old store at Awatuna and also the local store. Some years ago he sold out and went farming at Toko, and later at Tataraimaka. Much sympthy is felt for, her mother, Mrs. Thomas, senr., of Te Kiri, as well as Mr. Gatenby and family, in their great loss. A good wife, a loving mother, and a faithful friend has gone to her rest. Mr. Whiting has all arrangements made for a hi gnight on Friday, when lie is giving a picture entertainment in aid of the local school. Besides the pietuies there will be shadow dancing and some musical items. Th© school committee .is expecting a record attendance. Local school children will be admitted free.
