ACCIDENT AT MATAPU.

MANAIA RESIDENT INJURED

William McLean, a resident of Manaia, was injured yesterday whilst engaged in shunting operations in the Matapu station yards. It appears that McLean, who is employed by the Public Works Department, was standing- on. a truck when a sudden jolt caused him to be th.own off lie falling on his head and sustaining a bad scalp wound, which necessitated his removal to the Hawera hospital. The injury is not serious, and on inquiry being made this morning McLean was reported to have had a good night. _
