At a .meeting 61 the Taranaki Distriot Committee the following licenses were considered and recommended: El. J. Foley (trainer), E. Beslan ties, (jockey) and Johnston McCarty (gentleman riders certifica-te). Particulars for inclusion in the unpaid forfeits list, on. account- of the Taranaki Jockey Club were approved. Mrs Nolan was appointed as the district's representative on the dates and licensing committees ol the con lei cnee.

The annua,! meeting of tho O'pnnake Racing C'luli was held on Friday evening. Air. A. Good (president) presided, and there wais an attenda/ico ol 19 members. The annual report (previously published) and balance-sheet were adopted. A motion of condolence with iJie relatives of the fate Air. Jos. Simpson was passed. The following oilicers wore elected: Fireside lit, Air A. Good; vice-president, Mr. J. AI. .Hickey. senr. ; treasurer, Mr. G. .Burr-Brown. Eons j-tii was re-elected chairman.
