The combined Sunday .schools he <1 their annual social in the Ma.tn.pu Halt laslt Friday evening, and Kiev. Orange, Fltham, presided over a large attendance of adults and children. Ibe laddies presented a lengthy concert prooramme and all the items were well received. The outstanding feature* of the evening were the piano solos, “Variation of Scotch Airs," by Miss Olive Boooek. and “Evening Chimes, by Miss Vera Beech. Bo lb were played well and received a great ovation from the audience. Other items were - Songs. Miss Hooker, Mabel Guy and Norma and derail Ibommw; piano .sole*, Phyllis and Keith Ikswli, Alex and Florence Seed, and (trace Miakleson; recitations, Mr. \\ 'l’homSOII, Tom and Laurie Daniels, Norma and Jean Thomas and JJessie and Rita, Seed; Highland Fling ami Sword Dance by Mabel Guy and Grace Mickleson, and a hymn in Maori by the three sisters Henry. The accompanists for the songs were Olive Itocock and Grace Mickleson, and for the dances. Mrs. Guv. Mr. F. Beech's kindness in paying tlie luill expense* was greatly appreciated by those present Miss M. ii.nd Air. K. Sharpe entertained about fifty guc-stis at their resilience, Hastings Road, hast Thursday evening, and all present thoroughly enjoyed themselves dancing and playing games until late miil-nighl.
