A MOTORING ACCIDENT. ( LIT TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.) PALMERSTON N., Aug. 3. While proceeding to Wellington yesterday to attend the conference of power hoards’ engineers, Mr Waters. chief engineer to the Manawatu-Oroua Power Board, accompanied by his wife and young son, met with a serious motor accident. The front tyre burst, and this caused the car to capsize, pinning the occupants beneath the car. Mrs Waters and child escaped with bruises and shock, but Mr Waters sustained a fracture to the base of the skull. He lies in the Palmerston North Hospital in a serious condition. He retained consciousness throughout. ACCIDENTS AT DUNEDIN. DUNEDIN, June 3. James Paterson, aged 70, fell from a tramcar on Saturday night and suffered a severe fracture of the facial bones. Hugh Albert Parker and A. NThompson, employees of the Post and Telegraph Department, left the wharf in a trawler yesterday morning.
