SEED TIME.
We are reminded that seed time (or sowing time) will be here again shortly, by the receipt of ti.e garden calendar and seej catalogue or Messrs. F. Cooper Lad., wholesale seed growers, of Wellington, tins is a well illustrated book containing much careful infoiillation uiion the best varieties, and complete cultural directions for sowing. Messrs. F. Cooper Ltd., advertise that _;iey have ‘-been selling seeds since sixty (1860)/’ and that their business has been growing ail the time. All experts agree that there is no finer climate in the world for producing seeds than our own New Zealand climate. Cooper’s seeds are largely grown in New Zealand, 'the firm is the largest growers and sellers of vegetable and l'aim seeds (exclusive of grass seed), not only in Ne>v Zealand, but in the Southern Hemisphere. To produce their R-equitremonts, they need J.er 4,000 acres each season exclusive, ly for seed purposes. Every bag of seed they receive is immediately tested for growth by the Department of Agriculture, and also by themselves, and no seeds that are not of the highest germination are packed or sent o it. Open ground trials are made by themselves, and also Upon the principal Government farms, and by other exoerts. These prove conclusively the superiority of Cooper’s seeds. Th e produce of Cooper’s seeds has again been wonderfully "successful at the principal shows during the past season. At Palmerston North. Hawera, New Plymouth, and in fact at most of the shows, they have practically swept the board.
