FRENCH TRADE.

A SERIOUS DECREASE

France is experiencing a serious decline in trade, according to the Board of Trade Journal. Figures for the first four months of the year show the value of her imports to have been about £6,000,000 less than in the corresponding period of last year, and the value of exports from the country to have been practically £5,000,000 smaller.

While United States exports to the rest of the world continue to expand, those to the chief countries' of the East show a decline on the first nine months of the current fiscal year. The falling off is attributed mainly to smaller pur. chases of manufactured goods.
