ENTERTAINMENTS.

OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT

“THIS FREEDOM.”

To-night’s big attraction is the picture everyone has been waiting, for, the British production of A. S. M. Hutchinson’s famous novel “This Freedom,” with Fay' Compton and Clive Brook as the featured players. “This Freedom” is a Master picture, and that is always a guarantee of firstclass entertainment. On the: same programme is an excellent comedy, “Cartoon,” and the latest interesting English gazette. Patrons are advised to book their seats. The box plan is at Mrs Cook’s.

MAURICE MOSCOVITCH.

“The Outsider,” the record-breaking four-act drama, in which the famous Russian-Jewish actor, Maurice Moscovitch, and his talented) dramatic company will make their first and only appearance in Hawera at the Opera House on Wednesday evening next, is highly recommended by success, both in England and America, where it. had a wonderful run in both these' countries. It is stated 1 to be an excellent drama and possesses in a marked degree a number of the qualifications that make for success. “Maurice. Moseovitch on Saturday night scored a personal triumph. He played on the feelings of the audience, and the sure, touch of the master hand and the force of his remarkable personality dominated every scene. One felt that here was one of the great geniuses of the drama.” This is how a leading Melbourne critic began his notice of “The Outsider” on its first presentation in that city. Associated with this famous artist in this play will be exactly the same cast that appeared with him in the successful Melbourne and Sydney productions. The box plan is now on view at Mrs Cook’s Sweet Shop. Although a very heavy booking has already taken place, the management states that there are still a number of excellent seats in central positions available in either the dress circle or reserved stalls.
