At a meeting of the transport group it was resolved, in order that the community should.suffer no inconvenience as a, result of the present dislocation of the shipping industry, that the group offers its co-operation to the Prime Minister in maintaining the inter-State serviees. It considered the Government should commission all idle vessels in various ports of the Commonwealth, which the groups will undertake to work in accordance with the terms of the agreement between the Commonwealth Shipping Board and the group. Mr Walsh states that he intends to communicate with the shipowners on Tuesday and notify them wliat progress the seamen are making in consideration of the terms of settlement laid down, and the probable date the union desired the conference to again he called together.
