At Manchester, Massachusetts, Alary Brown defeated Alolla Alallory, former holder of the national title, 6—4, 5 —7, 6—3, in the semi-final of the invitation women’s singles at the lawn tennis tournament. Helen Wills, holder of the national title, defeated Mrs Jessup, 6 —2, 6—l. Aliss AVills and Aliss Browne meet in the final to-morrow.
