HAW KE A MEN’S CLUB. AT WAVERLEY AND MANAIA. Matches were played at the week-end hv teams from the Hawera Men’s Club, 'flint against- Waverley was lost, while a win was scored against Manaia. The team t-liat jdaved Waverley consisted of tfiirteen men. Waver-’ey winning nine matches and Hawera four. The Hawera team had a thoroughly enjoyable trip, and was very hospitably entertained by their host s at Waverley. In most of the matches tlie results were very closely contested. Results were as follows. Waverley being mentioned first in each case :—Muir v. O'Callaghau 1; Wybourne 1 v. Beechey ; Aiken Tv. Elliott; Parsons 1 v. Evan; Bradmore 1 v. Cox: Johnston v. Glasson 1; Hughes v. Little 1; Palmer v. F'otclier T ; Wills 1 v. H,ay-Maekeii'/>ie : Pepper 1 v. Moss: Wicks 1 v. Haft; Cathie I v. Douglas; Kerr 1. v; Gibson. Totals.—Waverley 9 matches. Hawera >1 matches. . , The team against Manaia ulayeo four ball matches only. They thoroughv enjoyed golf uncier idea,l conditions as regards weather. The Manaia players gave them a most cordial welcome. Result's were as below, Manaia being mentioned first in each case : Wright and Young 1 v. Beechey and Salmon'; Evan and, Poynter v.
