TOURING AUSTRALIANS. DRAW WITH AUCKLAND. (BY TELEGRAPH. PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, July 18. A brilliant exposition of hockey was prvideod bv the match between Australia and Auckland, which ended in a draw of one all. Right from the start of the match it was apparent that the Auckland forwards were out to force i the pace, and they created great excitement by rushing into the circle. However, the defence was equal to the •occasion, and so it followed almost throughout the match, Auckand’s inner forwards doing particuary fine work, only to be stopped by the resourceful Australian backs. The first score came from a gradual movement by the Australians, who worked upheld, and the Auckland goalkeeper was called on to save from the resulting corner, Seamen opening Australia’s account. The Auckland forwards attacked relentlessly, and shortly before half-time the ball, from a corner, went to Simpson, who hit across to Hookham on the left wing. Hookham sent it back in the air into the centre of the danger zone, E. Watts flicking the falling hall into the net. The second spell was most exciting, hut try as did the Auckland forwards they could not score. The Watts brothers looked dangerous several times, hut on each occasion Australia saved. . AUCKLAND v.
