DAIRIY REDEUFTS

Molls .Daily Co, is this week paying a bonus of one penny per lb butter-fat over the season, making a total of Is: 7d. It is expected a. further pay-out will be made when the balance of stock is sold. The ' results are very satisfactory and the directors, with their manager (Mr. S. J. TidsweM) are to be congratulated on the success, attending their efforts. The cheese was consigned through Messrs. H. A. Lane and Go., and their agent, Mr. G. H. Buokeridge, is deserving of the- thianks of the supipliens for his: untiring energies on. their behalf.

It is rumoured there are already some good offers: going about for next season’s cheese, and no doubt there will be- keen competition among the various buying firms. SETTLERS ’ ASSOCIATION. A meeting of tins association was held on Tuesday evening, when a lair number of members was present. A discussion regarding the improvement of the paduock granted for use of the sports resulted in deterring this work meantime, ws it was considered too late in the year to undertake the necessary work. A (sum ol «‘3s; was voted to the school committee, which is arranging to present special prizes to the children attending the local school in rootgrowing and call-rearing competitions. \b was thought that these competitions would encourage more entries, to he made in the larger group competitions,' and the chairman of the school committee thanked the association for its keen interest and practical syrti. pathv It' was decided to hold a reunion and dance on July 29, the local people to' be invited and each member of the association to be allowed to invite a few friends and hand names of same to the secretary before Saturday, 18th inst. The feeling of the meeting was that the function would do much to encourage the social relations already existing in the community, and. further. it would show that the association appreciated the .support accorded it in its various efforts.
