The following Clydesdales 1 have passed the veterinary examination : On account of F. Richmond, Hinuera, one colt, “General Dene” (1575); on account of J. Ford, Tahatika, three mares, “Janefield Bloom” (2656), “Jane,fie,ld Rena” (2655) and “Jaueueld Myra,” (2657). There were no rejects. Certificates, lor the following imports are to, hnatl and in order: Three stallions'—“Risque” (20,158*) on account of Mr David Wilson, Washdyke ’ “Woodh all Reward” (20,677*) rand “Ep iward” (20,192*) on account of Mr. Harry Sal way, New Plymouth. The Union S.S. oup is to lie competed for at the Masterton A. and P. Show, and the British Clydesdale Society’s, medals at the Egmont A. and P. Show.

'Phe registration rules, as circulated among, members of council, were taken seriatim and confirmed, and the editing committee, were empowered to revise the export rules, and have copies circulated among members. ANNUAL MEETING. 'Pile president (Mr. J. W, Harding) was in the chair ait the annual general meeting in the Breeders’ Cluib, Palmerston North. The president, in moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, said: The year just ended has, on the whole, been a satisfactory one from the breeders’ point of view. There hats been a steady increase in demand for any horses showing quality and substance, and while no sensational prices have been recorded, the prices received for suitable animals have been quite satisfactory. Finance. —The finances of the society are in a healthy condition, thanks chiefly to our .treasurer. You will see from the bralance-sheet that the receipts last, year amounted to £1054 1« 4d and payments £648 12s 7d, leaving a profit for the year of £404 Ss lOd. Our surplus assets are now £1585 17s 6(1, which may be looked upon as very satisfactory. The, fact that the sales of .stud books during the year amounteel t.o £3l .13s, shwas that- breeders, are taking more interest in pedigrees. A notable event during the year was the holding of the first Royal Show at Palmerston North in November last. The champion Clydesdale sire was Messrs Thomsons’, Ltd., “Brilliantshine,” and the champion mare, Mr H. E. Cook’s imported “Yet Merry m a id.” Roth champions came from the South Island.

The election of officers resulted as follows:—President. Mr J. D. Wyllie (Helton) ; vice-presidents, Messrs Thos. Logan (Otamn), D. G. Wright (Windermere), \Y. G. Park (Te Awamntu), R. [). Knight (Longburii); treasurer, Mr A. Hunter; council. Messrs John Ewan (Invercargill), Robert Kennedy (Drummond), D. G. Wright (Windermere), R. \Y. Lockhead (Christchurch), James Knight (Feiiding), R. D. Knight T.onghurn), E. A. Washer (Okaiawa), Hamish Wilson (Bulls). Messrs Burdekin, Walkley and Cameron were re-appointed auditors for the ensuing year. The matter of animal photography was discussed, and it was reported that with a. view to raising the standard of photography of champion animals, as published in the various papers, the breed societies had considered offering prizes for the best photographs. Mr R. D. Knight was appointed a delegate to attend a, non fere nee of representatives of other breeds.

Stallion s Bill. —It was unanimously agreed to request'the Government to nilsh forward the Stallions Bill with all possible speed.
