HOCKEY.
HAWKE A RAMBLERS v. TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL. The ladies’ hockey game between Hawera Ramblers and Hawera Technical High School was played on Wednesday, and resulted in u win for the school team by' four goals to nil. The game was fast all through, the school team showing considerable- skill in the first spell, hut later seemed to lose their dash. Ramblers were hampered bv not having all their res£iilar team and having to put hacks in the forwards, which may have accounted for the disparity in the scores. SCHOOL MATCH. On Saturday last, at Norman by, the local school girls defeated Hawera Technical High School C team by five goals to nil, the stores being registered hv E. Cox (3), P. Gnne, and S. Tippett. At the conclusion of the match the visitors wore entertained to afternoon tea by the winning team. ELTH.VM DEFEATS MANAT A. At Elthnm on Wednesday the borne team heat. Man ai a by five goats to three. The game, wa.s fairly evenly contested. Messrs. Lambic and Pennington were the capable referees. Hawera Rovers to play Wanderers at the Park at 2.30 p.m. : Misses M.
