FIRE BRIGADE BALL.

SUOUFISSF'UL- FUNCTION. Tine Winter S-liow dance-' hall was gaily decollated last night- on the occasion of the Hiawera Fire Brigade's annual ball, when some SO couples took the -glassy floor to music- from. McDonald’si orchestra, assisted by Incut. Fox. An excellent programme was carried on until the early hours. The office of M.CL was a-bly carried out by Foreman Hurley and Firemen Bryant, Pet-tett and AA'arner. -S-upper arrangements- were in the- hands of a* ladies’ committee, under Miss Corrigan and Mrs. E. A. Pacey, which, after a conoiideliable -amount of. work, was able to bring this department to a very high standard. Scupper extras were played by Mesdainos Bennett and Foster, Mii.si.ses N-uttall, Franks and Nairn, and Messrs. Poison, Coburn and Foster. The committee were assisted by Mr. Percy Shaw, who lent and operated his coloured s-pot-lightsi during several- of the dances.
