DISTRICT STOCK SALES. Ale.swr.s-. Newton King, Ltd., report as- under: Om Saturday, July 4. we held a (bearing sale in our Stratford yards 011 account of Air. F. Hall. There was a fair attendance of buyers. Best cows made from £8 to £lO, latei! cal vers £-1 !.0s to £7 K)s. On Tuesday, July 7. we held our usual yard sale at Stratford. A fair yarding of cattle came forward, and we report practically a total clearance. Quotations: "Fat and forward heifers £4 Is to £5 11s, forward cows to £0 6s. store cows £1 10s to £2 11s, incalf heifer* £2 Gs, weaner heifers £3, hull £6. In, the dairy* pens the demand for lows was poor, owing no doubt to the number of clearing sake being held in the vicinity. Best cows sold from £7 to £ll, while lowconditioned and late calving cows were neglected. On Wednesday, July 8, we held a .'-learing sale on account -of Air. J. A. Borchait, of Clieal Rbad, Ngaere. The whole of Mr. Borch art's herd were grade Friesian*, and very satisfactory prices were realised. Top price for the sale was £l7 los, while- several other cows made from £l3 to £l6 15s. The average price for the herd of 60 cows was in tho vicinity of £lO 1 Os. In-calf heifers made from £4 to £6 2s Rd and the weaner heifers were knocked down, at £2 18s. On Thursday, July 9, we held a. clearing sale on account of Air. J. T. Hughes, Toko Road, Toko. There was a. large attendance' of buyers. Best cows made from £lO 10s to £l3, implements and sundries realising satisfactory prices. Om Friday, July 30, a clearing sale was held on. aoeownt of Mr. F. Ferguson, Brooks Road, Stratford. Top nric-es for oow.s were from £l3 10s to £l6 10.9, others from £5 10s to £l2.
