FARMERS ’ ORGANISATIONS.
(To the Editor). Sir,—Your correspondent “City Dweller,” should certainly be burned at the stake for rank heresy. He has libelled one of our greatest citizens, viz., old polev the cow. He has no idea of the enormous load that the docile animal can carry. His criticism has been destructive, not constructive. Take the items of federations alone: old poley is quite able to bear a few more of these. Why, we have only the National Dairy Ass., the South Taranaki Federated Ass., the Employers’ Federation. Ass., and the Dairy Control Board—only four. 'Would it not be a good idea; if the four combined and called themselves the Federation of Federations A-S s If “City Dweller” will look at Saturday’s Star, he will see jt reported that a sub-committee of the Dairy Council waited on the Minister for Agriculture tbe other day, asking that the dairy farmer be done out of his vote for the Dairy Control Board, and that companies only have the right to vote for members of a Dairy Council, which- will in turn elect the members of the Control Board. This Dairy Council we might call another federated ass. for old poley to carry. If “City Dweller” will only leave the cocky alone, said cocky will eventually wake up and wipe some of the brummy federations off the slate. In the meantime he is only paying for experience. —I am, etc., R. URAL.
