EVACUATION OF COLOGNE. A GERMAN ANNOUNCEMENT. REPLY TO FRANCE. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT . Received July 6. 12.30 P-m. BERLIN, July o. The Times’ correspondent states* that the Tageblatt claims Allied authority for thefstatement that after the evacuation of Cologne in the autumn, Coblenz will be the headquarters of the British Rhur Army, the French continuing at Mainz. Coincident with the announcement by Cabinet of a complete agreement rega id ins the line to he* taken in replvfng to the French security note, the People’s Party, of which Dr. Stresemann is still the leader, issued a manifesto declaring that it will only accept the proposed pact provided it- does not interfere with the Rapallo agreement, covering Germany's relations with Russia, or treaties concluded with any other Powers, and accords Germany equal rights and reciprocity by means of arbitration treaties, security and disarmament all round. The manifesto also declares the evacuation of the Ruhr and Cologne must precede Germany’s entry into the League of Nations. —Times. OCCUPIED GERMANY. EVACUATION BY THE FRENCH. Receved Julv 6, 1.30 p.m. LONDON, July 6. It- is announced that the French are evacuating Bochum forthwith, and Recklinghausen and Gelsenkirchen by the middle of July.—Times.
