ON POLORO-SOVIET BORDER
RUSSIA LODGES PROTESTS. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received Julv 6. 1 p.m. MOSCOW, July 5. Tchitcherin has sent to the Polish Minister a note protesting against certain incidents which occurred on the Polono-Soviet frontier, and demanding immediate measures on the part«©f the Polish Government to secure the real in volatility of the frontier, and formation of a mixed commission to investigate the incidents. The Soviet reserves the right to claim an indemnity for any damage during the alleged attack. —Reuter. A POLISH EXPLANATION. Received Julv 6, 1 p.m. WARSAW, July 5. In reference to the Soviet note concerning frontier incidents, it is stated here that a Soviet patrol kidnapped a Polish lieutenant while on . a tour of inspection. Two brother officers burned a Russian frontier post as a reprisal. Both will be punished, and a 9 the Soviet protest is couched in moderate terms no serious consequences are expected.—Reuter.
