FOR REFUSING DUTY. WAIFORI AT GREYMOUTH. (BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. GREYMOUTH, July 4. At the Magistrate’s Count this morning A. Robinsem M. Davies and H. J. Roberts, firemen on the Wa-ipori, were convicted of wilful disobedience to the lawful command of the commander in refusing to get up steam to take the vessel to sea.. The refusal was based on the grounds that there were no trimmers on board and the voyage to Sydney therefore would be too arduous.

Mr. Meld-nun, ! S.M., said the men, when signing on, knew the conditions As they persisted in their refusal, lie imposed a month’s imprisonment each.
