The Hawera Municipal Band will hold its second P.S.A. next Sunday at the Opera House at 2.45 p.m. The programme will appear in our advertisement coumns to-morrow. The success of the hand’s first venture will ensure a large attendance. The report of the British. Empire Producers’ Organisation read at the annual meeting points out that the organisation continued to press for the restriction of all Government meat contracts to Empire suppliers, and strongly opposed what was described as the dangerous suggestions of the Food Commission that the Imperial authorities might in future take an interest in the meat industry in the Argentine (says a London message). Dr. G. J. Blackmore. of the Cashmere Hills Consumptive Sanatorium, does not attach weight to a report cabled from London that two members of the Medical Committee of the House of Commons are convinced that the Spahlinger treatment is ‘‘the’one cure designed to eradicate tuberculosis in human beings and cattle.’’ He said on Wednesday that the members of tlio committee were not experts, and unless an opinion was expressed hy experts after examination it was worth .nothing whatever. Spahlinger had refused to submit the treatment to true expert experiment. A mere opinion without evidence was nothing, and unless lie did something much better, Spahlinger could not oxpect the people to believe that his treatment was really good. FOR BABIES.
