An outstanding feature of the Prince of Wialesi’ visit to Bulawayo was his pilgrimage to Cecil Rhodes’ grave on the Matoppo Hills. The Prince outpaced the rest of the party arid had the first view of (he glorious panorama. With Admiral Sir Lionel Halwey the Prince stood reverently before the simple slab bareheaded. He remarked to himself blent he would 'like to rest in such a spot facing such 'a view. The Prince also visited the neighbouring tomb of Sir Starr Jamieson, erected on the spot where the remains of Alan Wilson and his party are buried.
