(From Our Own Correspondent). The school committee was unfortunate over the advertised concert, the party not being able to come. However. a most enjoyable long-night dance was held. The music was supplied gratis bv Mrs. and Mass Collins and Mr. J. Micky, who were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. A\ . C.‘oxhead and Miss Gijshnan .won the “soptwaltz,’’ while the ‘'open'’ waltz was won bv Mr. and Mrs. B. Smith (who kindly'gave the prize hack toward the children’s trip to the show on Friday). Mr. and Miss Collins were n very close second. Messrs Stockwell and Thomas acted as judges. The prizes at the last euchre party were wo n by Airs. Gilbert and Air. S. Hodge. AH. and Airs. AY. Parlies who have left for New Plymouth were tendered a .-surprise party farewell by friends, when both received a handsome present. The family will be much missed in the district. There is quite a number of “moves” on just now, but very few are leaving the district. The weather lately has been very c-old and wet. with a n occasional fine day.
