AUCTIONS. FARMERS’ CO-OP^ ON THE FARM, XOEMAXBY. MONDAY, .IULY 0. At 12 o’clock sharp. rpHF FARMERS’ CO-OP. have been iust meted by Mr G. W. Gane, who is going right out of dairying, to offer as above the whole of his well-known dairy herd, horses, pigs, implements, etc., as below — 90 cows -IS store and weaner pigs 12 sows to farrow 1 pedigree Tamwort.h boar M -1 year heavy spring cart geldings 2 heavy draught geldings Xormanby factory shares, 9ft Duncan lucerne cultivator, Mas-sey-Harris lucerne loader, 6ft windmill (new), 4-leg galv. steel 20ft stand, 2 h.p. steam boiler, 8-cow Marvel milking plant Everything is in first-class order. The horses are all quiet and young, and have been working in all farm implements. The lucerne loader is the greatest labour saver on tlie farm, a large dray being loaded in a few minutes. . The herd consists chiefly of fine young cows, well into the Jersey breed; the majority are coining to their second and third calf; 77 of the cows are July and August cal vers. It is now 50 years since the father of the vendor, the late Mr R .T. Gane, eomrnneced dairying in Taranaki with a small herd of imported Milking Shorthorns, and 15 years ago the present owner changed over to the Jerseys, and since that time he has used only the best Jersey sires obtainable. The sires of the herd are sons of the renowned Soumise Tom; one of them. Jersey Park’s Miehief, was bred by Mr W. Pollock. The dam of this bull, Sylvian Prim, put up a 0.0. R. of 7-171 bs. fat, and bis heifers have every appearance of being able to follow in the footsteps of their grand-dam. Most, if not nR, of the heifers in North Taranaki which sold at such high prices, ranging up to 500 guineas and over, last spring, were grand daughters or otherwise closely related to Soumise Tom. so there is a good chance here for farmers who are looking for the best butter-fat producers. The cows will be grazed free of charge until August 6th. This is the first clearing or dispersal sale Mr Gane has held. Sale will be held under cover. Starting Time, 12 o’clock sharp.
