The press cable reporting; that representations are apparently being made to Admiral C'oontz by Air C. M. Luke at Honolulu regarding the subject of drinking among the men of the fleet when visiting New Zealand, was brought under the notice of a meeting of the Dominion Executive of the New Zealand Licensing Reform Association, when it was decided to send the following cable to Admiral Coontz, signed by the President, Archdeacon H. W. Williams: “The New Zealand Licensing Reform Association desires to convey to the Admiral the fact that Mr C. M. Luke, who is reported by cable to have discussed with him the queston of drinking among the men of the fleet, docs licit represent either the 'Government or the people of New Zealand, his only status on this • question being as a member of the committee of the Prohibition Party, who, we regret, are using the welcome visit of the fleet for propaganda purposes in connection with the referendum vote on prohibition, to be held this year.
