HAWER.A, CL ÜB’S ANN UAL MEETING.

The annual meeting of the Rawer a Bowling Club was held on Alonday, when the president (Air. S. Adamson) presided over an attendance, of about ;io members.

J. Hulbert winning If) consecutive games. The, previous record was 12 games, which was held by a rink skipped by Mr. R ; Hicks. The committee regrets tlie loss, through leaving the district, of Messrs. O’Gorman, Goring. Burdekini and Skjellernp, 'each of whom, were active members, for several seasons'. During the .season the green, was not playing up bo -its, usual standard, through no fault, of the superintendents (ATeissps. Corkill and McDonald), but. due to it not being level in (several places. Since closing the levels have been taken by the (surveyor, .and the committee, acting on fi resolution, carried at a special, general meeting, have had .the drains taken ou.t, and. they hope to provide a good green for next .season. It is with deep regret that your committee, place on record the death of Air. Ja.s, .TJarkla, who was a prominent- member of the cluib, and one, by hn\s jovial nature, and kindly disposition, who will lie always remembered. Once, again the club’s thanks are extended to. our lady friends for their kindness and hospitality m entertaining visiting teams. In recognition of their .services the club tendered them, a .social: evening which proved a. most enjoyable function. Throughout the season, the membership has been well maintained. ELECTION OF OFFICERS.

Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow : Patron, Mr G. Sytne, sear. ; president. Mr S. Adamson ; vice-presidents, Messrs- T. Corkill and A. H. Hodge; secretary and treasurer, Air J. Champion; auditor, Air F. E. Clarke; committee, Messrs A. G. Shaw, J. Fov, C. J. ltobb, ,C. Cummings, W. AleUonald, AV, Robertson. -T. Stewart, Al. Squire and E. Dillon; delegates’ to the Taranaki Centre. Messrs J. Foy, S. Adamson and T. Corkill ; delegates to the South Taranaki Bowling Executive, Messrs J. Foy, T. .Corkill, A. H. Hodge and S. Adamson. OTHER BUSINESS. The delegates to the annual meeting of the Taranaki Bowling Centre were instructed to vote for a continuance of the banner competitions. The secretary read a letter from the Eltham Club, whose delegates to the Centre had been instructed to support the formation of a South Taranaki Association. Air E. E. Clarke pointed out that unity was strength, and he said it would be a mistake to break away. After some discussion the delegates were instructed to oppose the remit. ' That the- old system of winners playing winners in. the banner competitions be reverted to, and that 'the Manawatu Centre’s proposal that the tournaments at present held in each centre be abandoned in favour of a West Coast and Easter rinks tournament, with a New Year pairs tournament, to he held by the centre not having either of the foregoing tournaments, he opposed, were further instructions to the delegates to the Centre. A recommendation to the incoming committee, that all competitions be drawn for and closed at a fixed date, was agreed upon. Votes of thanks were accorded the secretary (Mr J. Champion), the auditor (Air D. G. Smart), the green committee (Alessrs Corkill and AlcDonald), the club’s officers, members who had contributed voluntary labour, and the press.
