Friday night saw the fine success oi the plain land fancy uresis dance organised hv the school committee to augment As- funds. it was a great evening, the floor being taxed to its u - most. Dancing commenced at c.lo with the grand march, and wa« kept o-oing. well into the morning. V>ute a number turned out in fancy costume, which made the evening very interesting. Airs. Bennett supplied the music in”iter usual good .style . E«Has were i,laved by Airs. Laurent and Air: Banfcx (piano ami violin). Airs. F. Stewart, Arisi-i Wells‘and Ails* Arden. -The fiiKt-pi'ize fancy dress lor the ladies was won by Aiiss Jones as Good Luck. Air. G. Griiien, as J irate, carried oil' the men’s prize. lhe prize for the most, original costume was won, bv Alas,ter Vernon Laurent a.s Red Indian. Others in fancy costume wore: McsdamO'S \Y. Schmidt (Indian Gueeii), H. F. Wren. (Danger SigU.au), J. Bloor (Night). H. Peacock (Nurse), Alisses Banks. (Patchwork), D. Banks (Red Indian), N. Palmer (Pierrette). I). Palmer (Ballet Girl), N • Griffon (Patchwork), Elsie Griffeu (Eastern Lady), Thelma Lament (Electric Light Shade). Messrs. R. H. Jones (Huntsman). W. Hayward (Hard-l p), H. Hayward (Patches), B. Bloor and J. Jones (Bed-time), Master Haughton Bloor (Jack of Diamonds). A dainty supper supplied by the committee was -served by a willing band of workers.
