OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT.

Fcftv actors on the stage have portrayed as many varied roles as George Arliws, who is appearing at the Opera House this week in “The Green Goddess,” a- Selznick picture feature. One simply has to recall! the diversified nationalities which Air. Arlis® has played to realise the great art and ability possessed by the actor. He appears as the Indian Rajah in “The Green Goddess.” The picture will he repeated this evening.
THE GRAND TO-NIGHT.
BUCK JONES
At the Grand Theatre to-night the attraction ■will he “The Arizona Romeo,” a Buck Jones feature. It as a combination story of Eastern capitalists and Western cowboys with a comedy dressing for a salad of thrills and action. The leading feminine role is portrayed by Lucy Fox. The production was directed by Edmund Mortimer from an original screen story by Charles Kenyon. A very fine supporting programme 'will he presented.
LONG TACK SAM. NEW VAUDEVILLE COMPANY. The visit of the Chinese juggling marvel and his company to Hawera will take place on July 7th, when Long Tack Sam will present to •theatre-goers at the Opera House a complete new organisation of twelve Oriental stars, including Misses Poldi and Mina Long and Madame Long Tack Sam. The company supporting the star are all acts of international repute selected from the J. C. Williamson theatres in Sydney and Melbourne. The new Company was organised during the recent civil war. Notwithstanding the troubles and worry encouraged, Long Tack Sam rehearsed the company in Shanghai and finished them off on the steamer to Australia. In a magnificient setting of Chinese draperies, which he has brought back with him, and which, together with costumes which cost the star within the neighbourhood of eight thousand pounds, the troupe maintains the keenest interest of the audience for nearly an hour. Other turns will include Morah and Wiser, billed as hilarious hat spinners jn a skit “All in Fun”; Errol Addison and Gertrude Mitrenga, specialty and classical dancers; the Koval illusionist Chris. Charlton, assisted by Dorothy Browne. Another member of the company is the brilliant ballad singer, Arthur Mayes, a basso cantante. The Novelle Bros, are described as musical acrobatic clowns. The box plans for the season opens on Friday morning at the Opera House eonfectionerv.
