MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
FORTNIGHTLY SITTING. - The hearing, of, civil and. criminal, cases was continued' at % the Hawerh Magistrate’s- Court this afternoon. A WIFE’S CLAIAL Some time was taken in the hearing, of' evidence in connection with an- application by the wife of George W. Hayward for maintenance, separation, and guardianship. Persistent cruelty, tras alleged'; but this was denied DJ. defendant. ~ , . ~r After hearing both sides, his Worship said he was satisfied that persistent cruelty had been proved-. The orders as asked for would be granted, maintenance for-the wife being, fixed at £1 uer week, and for each of the four children 7s 6d per week. K. defendant, without reasonable, causes did not pay he rvould be punished. Defendant was also ordered to pay solicitors? fees amounting to two guineas and witnesses’ expenses £3 12s-.
