A MARRIED WOMAN’S OFFENCE. (BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) THAMES; June 25. A married woman with five children, whose name was ordered to he supressed, was charged with opening a postal packet. The bag was what is known as an overflow one, and was left in the accused’s shop for the poetman to call for later in order to finish his delivery. The- woman broke the seals, andi took a parcel containing a garment. The postman’s suspicions were aroused, and on the police taxing her the woman admitted the act. She pleaded- guilty, and was committed to Auckland for sentence. FLOODS AT MOTU. , GISBORNE, June 25. Heavy rains have fallen in the- Motu district. The river has Tisen 14 feet at Motuhara, flooding portions - of the townships of Motuhara and Motu. The Tailway service has been suspended. The heavy rain continues.
