PACT PROPOSALS.
CONDEMNED BY LABOUR. EXTENSIONS URGED. BY CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT LONDON, June 23. The Parliamentary Labour Party passed a- resolution condemning the proposed security pact as not calculated to secure Franco-German conciliation or stabilised European peace, it being inconsistent with the spirit iand ideals of the League of Nations covenant. They urged an extension of the League to include Germany and Riussia, and the establishment, of an all-Chinese pact for security based on the. principles of the 'Geneva protocol. THE FRENCH NOTE. PREPARING GERMANY’S REPLY. LONDON, June 24. It is learned that Germany sent a que.stionaire to Plans respecting the obscurities of the French Note and received answers. The German Government is now awaiting the statement, by Mr. Austen Chamberlain and the debate in the House of Commons today, which is expected to considerably affect the reply. Meantime, the Premiers of the German States have been invited to visit Berlin to attend a special council with Cabinet on Saturday, at which the reply will probably be outlined.
