LOSS OF THE VESSEL

In connection with the stranding of the Cyrena, the Court’s finding was given this morning. After a protracted sitting and very exhaustive inquiry, the finding was a. complete exoneration of Captain Patterson and his officers, also of Captain M sin tyre, the harbour, master, and the harbour officials.

The Court held that the accident was due to a narrow bank caused by a submerged log, which was deemed to be an act of God. The Court intimated that its decision was unanimous. Costs were awarded to the- master of the Cyrena and the pilot.
